Travelling (Main roads between cities)Caravans and travellers occupy the roads between cities. Monsters and outlaws abound as well. Care must be taken, even on the roads that are patrolled by the local militias. |

Rivers, Lakes and OceansThe sailors of Faerun can make life easier for travellers, especially in certain areas of the seas. However, it is always wise to give a small gift to Umberlee before stepping onto a boat. |

VaasaThis untamed wasteland of frozen moors and tundra was the seat of power for the evil lich Zhengyi the Witch-King until his defeat by a band of adventurers. Vaasa is once again a lonely land dotted with scratch farms and inhabited by evil humanoids and other monsters. What the land lacks in hospitality it makes up for in untapped wealth, as the mountains of Vaasa are rich in metals and gems, particularly bloodstone. Miles of mountainside go unclaimed by any civilization, and many well-armed prospectors make the trip to Vaasa hoping to find gems as large as a grown man's fist - and survive long enough to sell them. |

Ravens BluffRavens Bluff straddles the mouth of the Fire River on the eastern shore of the Dragon Reach, that most northerly arm of the Sea of Fallen Stars. It stands just north of the Earthfast Mountains, on the site of the onetime dwarven city of Sarbreen. The city commands access to the rich agricultural coastlands known as The Vast. Folk of all races and origins rub shoulders in Ravens Bluff; an annual average of about 40,000 of them. The city boasts a good and very busy harbor, defensive walls, and bustling commerce. The Vast's major coastal road crosses the Fire River near the Bluff. |

Shadowdale'Shadowdale is a quiet, wooded land of dense forests, prosperous farms and places of mystery and power. The main trade route from Cormyr to the Moonsea runs through its very heart, bringing a steady influx of goods, rumours and adventurers. Quite a few of the latter are so enchanted by its pastoral beauty, they decide to settle here permanently not least among them Elminster the Sage and Storm Silverhand. |

Zhentil KeepZhentil Keep was once a walled metropolis with a population of nearly 57,000. Sitting astride the River Tesh where it empties into the frigid waters of the Moonsea, it remains one of the region's major ports, and also benefits from the vast wealth of natural resources mined from the surrounding mountains. Press gangs roam the night streets and visitors can expect to be stopped and questioned. Evil deities, particularly Bane, are venerated in the Thargate City, and in the last half-decade since the ruination and subsequent reconstruction of the metropolis' northern half, the Zhentarim (also known as the Black Network) now openly rules the city. Good deities are not outlawed per se, but are discouraged - oft times brutally so. |

WestgateThe major trading center of the southern coast, Westgate boasts more then 29,000 in number. Priding itself as an open city, it strongly believes in the "Anything goes and Everything has a price" reputation of the Dragon Coast. The theives guild known as the Night Masks rule just as much of the city as the officials do. The newest rage is a gladitorial arena that has taken the populus by storm. Nobles, merchants, commoners and even slaves enjoy the arena's promises of freedom and gold. |

Neverwinter - CURRENTLY INACTIVEWith over 23,000 citizens, Neverwinter is a walled city of humans and half-elves. It is cultured without being arrogant, bustling without being greedy, and charming without being quaint. The city is best known for it's master craftsfolk. It is heated by the supernaturally warm Neverwinter River. The ruler of Neverwinter nearly always sides with Waterdeep in matters involving Luskan |

LuskanAlso known as the "City of Sails" Luskan houses over 14,000. A council of five High Captains rule this large town but the true power comes from an evil mage society called th Arcane Brotherhood. Luskan enjoys picking on smaller cities that have trouble defending themselves while avoiding trouble with larger cities such as Amn and Waterdeep. |

WaterdeepThe City of Splendors, also called The Jewel of the North, serves as the Gateway to the North, accessible by road, ship, Underdark passage, or magic portal. Almost anything can be bought, sold, or found in its thriving markets and long-forgotten dungeons. Most adventurers worth their salt eventually make their way to Waterdeep in search of excitement, danger, or great reward. The trick is surviving and thriving in the grandest city of Faerun. |

Menzoberranzan - CURRENTLY INACTIVEFew mention the name Menzoberranzan without a quake of fear, for the city boasts over 20,000 drow. Noble Houses constantly battle for rank here where to openly commit murder or wage war invites the pretense of merciless drow justice. To stick a dagger in the back of a rival during the chaos of battle or in the quiet shadows of an alley, however, is quite acceptable and even applauded. |

Silverymoon - CURRENTLY INACTIVESilverymoon, a Metropolis of 37,073, is the foremost center of learning and culture in the North. Silverymoon is built on the spirit of cooperation between the races--humans, elves, and dwarves all maintain dwellings in the same areas of the city. Mages gather here in greater numbers than in any other city of the Sword Coast lands, with the exception of Waterdeep. The citys army, the Knights in Silver, numbers over 500 and patrols the city constantly, and the Harper scouts and mages assist them when necessary to keep the peace. |

SambarLantan is a little known island that is just making its appearance into the world of Faerun. Isolated by its distance from the mainland and the local pirate infested waters, it has developed largely unknown to the world at large. It is the primary focal point of the worshipers of The Wonderbringer, the god known as Gond. It is here that invention and science have raced forward with the urging of a god who has no fear of such. While largely a Gnomish nation all races are represented here, in a place where the important thing is not your skin, or even your income, but your skill at your craft. |

AnchorilA fishing and shipping town on the eastern side of Suj, Anchoril is a shadow of its' former self. Once thehub of Lantanese maritime affairs, the city lost prominence some 200 years ago, when the Council movedthe naval shipyards to Sambar. Today, the 8,000 or so citizens of Anchoril survive mainly by fishing, although several prominent merchant families (the Zunds, Medaiths, and Enthstars) still remain. |
